Puebla York believes in putting people and the planet first. We aim to serve the greater community by giving back.

Since Puebla York was founded in 2019, we have supported RAICES (Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services).

In 2021, from April through mid-August, we donated 10% to Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC) Atlanta chapter after the tragic hate crimes that occurred in Atlanta towards Asian American women.

At this time we will be contributing what we can to Maui families who’ve lost everything in the recent fires. One fire was in my hometown and knowing people who’ve lost their homes and livelihoods has been heartbreaking. If you’d like to support families on Maui directly, see this Google Doc with over 1200 names compiled by Hawai’i women:

Help Maui families today

Group trips are planned with supporting local and women-owned businesses in mind. As much as possible we will choose to support these businesses over others.

The climate change crisis is imminent and important. The travel industry emits 6% of total carbon emissions. In an effort to offset this, Puebla York commits to offsetting carbons for those who participate in our group trip.

The definition for carbon offset from the organization Cool Effect is, “a carbon offset is a reduction of carbon emissions to compensate for an equal amount of emissions from another source. A carbon offset is measured in metric tonnes.”

Additionally, by focusing on responsible and slower travel, we can reduce further carbon emissions. To find out more about why carbon, see this page.
